As always, here is the interview:

Schallwellenmagie: Since when are you active as a producer ?
Radio Guidance: DJ since 2003,  producer since 2006

Schallwellenmagie: Who or what has you most strongly affected to make music ?
Radio Guidance: Actually I came from a family where music was always very present, so it is part of my day-to day since ever. I think making music is a challenge that never runs out and it always leaves me wanting to work more in search of new harmonies, rhythms and musical structures. Dedication and persistence are the key to achieve a result artistically relevant.

Schallwellenmagie: Who are the artists with the biggest influence on your music ?
Radio Guidance: It´s not a simple question, but certainly that´s some important influences: Model 500, John Coltrane, Kraftwerk, Daniel Bell, Basic Channel, Carl Craig, Lee Perry.

Schallwellenmagie: How long does it take you to produce a track usually and at what aspect of producing you spent most of your time?
Radio Guidance: It depends, but considering that I was already happy with the global idea, I believe that on average two weeks. Equalization, compression, limiting, noise reduction and other processes consume a lot of time, but I like to do. I like to sculpt the sounds and turn my musical message clear.

Schallwellenmagie: What is the biggest challenge for you when creating a new track ?
Radio Guidance: The biggest challenge is to create an interesting dynamic that hold the attention, have feel and make dance.

Schallwellenmagie: How difficult is it for you to find one point on which you can let stand a track how it is, without making changes again and again?
Radio Guidance: Well, In my case this happens when I feel that there is a reason for every movement, every element in this music… it´s not something easy to explain. When I´m changing too much is because the initial idea was not good and then the project goes to the refrigerator.

Schallwellenmagie: Tell us about the hard/software you are using to create electronic music.
Radio Guidance: Softwares: Ableton Live and some VSTs like Reaktor and Absynth. Hardware: Motu soundcard, Vírus TI , Roland SH 101, mixer Yamaha MG124cx, Yamaha monitors.

Schallwellenmagie: Your currently number one DJ/Live acts?
Radio Guidance: DJ Ricardo Villalobos

Schallwellenmagie: Your currently number one clubs / Live Festivals?
Radio Guidance: MOO parties in Rio.

Schallwellenmagie: If you are DJing: do you prefer Vinyl or CD? Do you use DJ software? Are you performing live?
Radio Guidance: For now I’m presenting as a DJ . I played vinyls until 2006, when I went to use Ableton Live for djing.

Schallwellenmagie: What can we expect from you in the near future?
Radio Guidance: Certainly more releases. This track „Alphabet Center“ is part of an EP called „Lexico“ that will be released (for free) on brazillian netlabel Motronic very soon.
I´m looking for other interesting labels to release my music too.

Schallwellenmagie presents FAKIEDJ – Long live the community!

We met FAKIEDJ for the first time on Last.fm, right from the start we knew him as a very active artist and a guy who is always trying to support the electronic music community.
The man behind FAKIEDJ is Felipe Pozuelo Botija and he is living in Alcazar de San Juan/Ciudad Real in Spain.

We are very pleased to give FAKIEDJ a platform here at our SCHALLWELLENMAGIE Blog to answer some of our questions and to introduce his track „Fuego Cruzado.

Schallwellenmagie:  Who or what has you most strongly affected to make music ?

FAKIEDJ: I am part of a musical collective of DJ´s here in Spain. I have always had dates for concerts , but this year i barel had only two dates….Why?

Because when organizing the schedule of the concert , in charge of opening the festival provided me , and this implies having to click on the first with little public, this is very hard for me.

After several parties with the same problem I decided to go on my own and started producing my own music to satisfy my creative needs.

Schallwellenmagie: Who are the artists with the biggest influence on your music?

FAKIEDJ: Specially Gui Boratto but also Oxia, Agoria, Extrawelt, Alex di Stefano, MotorcitySoul, I:Cube, Solee, Anthony Collins, Format B, Phonique, Jimpster, Marek Hemmann. Mathias Kaden….and earlier in my years as a drummer : Incubus Deftones Dredg Pennywise Nofx Bad Religion….and many more.

Schallwellenmagie: .How long does it take you to produce a track usually and at what aspect of producing you spent most of your time?

FAKIEDJ: Normally I play for hours on a single battery until I play the piano with a rhythm that I feel that is consistent with what at that time looking for.  After that is giving way to go and listen again from the beginning.

Schallwellenmagie: What is the biggest challenge for you when creating a new track?

FAKIEDJ: Surely mastering and compression of the virtual instruments and samplers, beyond my control, we have much to learn even.

Schallwellenmagie:  How difficult is it for you to find one point on which you can let stand a track how it is, without making changes again and again?

FAKIEDJ: To find this point is not difficult. I still do not consider myself a professional but rather a beginner in this cause. I think I have good imagination but I do not have training as a producer, everything is learned on my own. So when a song is close to the original idea I had and that correct term (and no longer go back to change it).

Schallwellenmagie: Tell us about the hard/software you are using to create electronic music.

FAKIEDJ: I am using several programs for the creation of my songs, Ableton Live, Logic, GarageBand, and others.  As a team: a MacBook, Firewire audio interface and two MIDI controllers.

Schallwellenmagie: Your currently number one DJ/Live acts?

FAKIEDJ: My favorite DJ is Richie Hawtin …. certainly two years ago I attended a meeting in Valencia, 6 hours long … amazing.

Schallwellenmagie:  What can we expect from you in the near future?

FAKIEDJ: In the near future I will have my own studio soundproofed, with a good sound, computer, and my analog Pearl drums and Zildjian cymbals my dishes with microphones, so combining the two worlds.

Do not rule out a future that makes a fairly rare type of direct, combining a Roland electronic drums and laptop.

Schallwellenmagie presents KLAKAST

Today SCHALLWELLENMAGIE is starting a new column called „Artists we like“.
As you might guess this is the place where other artists than Don Genaro/Audiohobel and White Zone will be featured and you are absolutely right.

We are starting with Klakast, her real name is Claudia Castagnola and she is living in Naples, Italy.
By now Klakast released three albums, they all can be found at last.fm:

klakast

We selected her track „Buble“ from the „E.P. maGma“ as one of our favourites:

Klakast – Buble

To find out more about Klakast we send her a couple of questions and here are the answers:

Schallwellenmagie: Since when are you active as a producer?
Klakast: I’m active as a producer for three years now.

Schallwellenmagie: Who or what has most strongly affected you to make music and who are the artists with the biggest influence on your music?
Klakast:  I worked for a long time in various organizations which organized parties and i have a passion for electronic music. One day my dear friend Rino Cerrone gave me a PC and he explained me the basics for using Ableton Live and I started playing. The person who encouraged me and inspired me is Rino naturally.

Schallwellenmagie: How long does it take you to produce a track and at what aspect of producing you spent most of your time usually?
Klakast:  To make a new track is not a challenge but a way to pass my music mentality. Sometimes the tracks are born in a very short time, sometimes I undertake several days. I dedicate all the time I can to play with my PC: I love creating rhytms and soundeffects.

Schallwellenmagie: How difficult is it for you to find one point on which you can let stand a track how it is, without making changes again and again?
Klakast: I decide that a track is finished when all the whole joint is smooth and pleasant for my ears.

Schallwellenmagie: What can we expect from you in the near future?
Klakast:  The music is my drug I can not live without and I hope to give you nice surprises in the future!!
